Research Scientist, AI, Singapore

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join Bosch's Research and Development team in Singapore. As part of our global research unit, the Singapore team focuses on sustainability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to explore AI and advanced solutions in HVAC engineering and control. As a Senior Research Scientist, you will collaborate with the research team, business units and external partners to develop cutting‑edge technologies and commercialize innovative solutions, contributing to Bosch's long‑term product portfolio.

• Drive AI innovation in Urban Solutions and Sustainability, particularly in the sustainable HVACs domain, focusing on AI‑enabled features for enhanced user comfort, well‑being, and indoor air quality.
• Co‑create with business units on sustainability initiatives, contribute to the long‑term product portfolio of Bosch, conduct customer interviews, formulate problem statements, and generate innovation pitches and research proposals.
• Lead the end‑to‑end development of AI solutions, from data acquisition to modeling, feature extraction, and creation of new user‑centric functions.
• Design and execute experiments to validate ideas, developing prototypes that demonstrate tangible improvements.
• Build cooperation and identify “Best‑In‑Class” local institutions and universities for potential research and innovation collaboration.
• Maintain regular alignment with the Strategic Research Portfolio Owner, provide quarterly project review updates, manage stakeholders, and pitch ideas via the Bosch Innovation Framework.

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a thesis and projects addressing AI methods research.
• Deep expertise in researching and applying AI and machine learning to time‑series data, including signal processing, system identification, control systems, and developing models such as deep learning, transformers, or time‑series forecasting for applications like anomaly detection, user behaviour modelling, or environmental prediction.
• Solid publication record in AI top‑tier conferences or journals.
• Proficiency in leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate research cycles, from literature review and code generation to data analysis and documentation.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience leading the end‑to‑end development of AI solutions, from initial concept and rapid prototyping to deployment and validation in real‑world environments.
• Awareness of the latest developments in industrial AI solutions.
• Passion for innovation, an entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
