Research Fellow
positions in the
Department of Pharmacology , Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Established in 1959, the NUS Medicine Department of Pharmacology is a leading institution in Asia dedicated to advancing healthcare through innovative drug discovery and world-class education. The department is committed to improving patient care by developing innovative therapies and pushing the boundaries of medical discovery. Appointments will be made on a
two-year
contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension. Purpose of the post The Research Fellows will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator as founding team members to establish a new lab in gene and cell therapy, contribute to the team's research proposals and ongoing projects. Main duties and responsibilities The Research Fellows will be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI), and will be able to: Work closely with the PI and the other team members in setting up the new lab in cell and gene therapy Undertake the day-to-day running of the projects in the team, e.g., conduct literature searches, perform detailed studies, and have group meetings with the PI to report the progress and communicate the next steps Assist the PI in preparing grant applications, and both progress and final reports of the projects Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures and Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI. Qualifications
The applicant should: Hold a PhD or MD in medicine-related fields or other cross-field for medical applications Be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail Have necessary knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, PowerPoint Have rich experiences in the nature of the research in general (e.g., experienced in both in vitro and in vivo experiments), as well as a high motivation to solve scientific and practical challenges in medicine A good publication record and experience in grant applications are preferred.
