Network Security Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and maintain secure network infrastructure across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, network monitoring, and cybersecurity best practices. Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and manage secure network infrastructure Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and security breaches Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions Conduct vulnerability assessments and security audits Respond to security incidents and perform root cause analysis Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system integration Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures Perform patch management and firmware upgrades Ensure compliance with security frameworks and regulatory standards Generate security reports and documentation Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Networking, or related field 2-5+ years of experience in network/security engineering Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP Experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, or Check Point Software Technologies Knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, NAC, VPN, and zero-trust security models Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001 Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is a plus Preferred Certifications
Cisco CCNA / CCNP Security CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) CompTIA Security+ CISSP Palo Alto PCNSE Fortinet NSE Tools & Technologies
Firewalls and UTM appliances Wireshark Splunk Nessus SolarWinds Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) platforms Soft Skills
