About the Role We are looking for
Trainee Ship Brokers and Junior Ship Brokers
to support and grow our dry bulk chartering activities in the Asia Pacific market. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in shipping and chartering, who thrive in a fast‑paced, commercial environment and are keen to build a long‑term career in shipbroking. Key Responsibilities For Both Trainee & Junior Brokers Support chartering activities across the Asia Pacific dry bulk market. Assist in building and maintaining relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators, and commercial counterparties. Track freight market movements, vessel positions, and cargo demand prepare market updates and reports. Support pre‑fixture and post‑fixture processes, including documentation follow‑ups and operational handovers. Maintain accurate records of fixtures, negotiations, and client interactions in internal systems. Handle routine correspondence, recap reviews, and counterparty queries. Attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences when required. Additional Responsibilities - Junior Ship Broker Participate in fixture negotiations under guidance and progressively handle fixtures independently. Contribute to identifying new clients and market opportunities. Provide commercial input on charter terms and market strategy. Support senior brokers in managing client accounts and ongoing business development. Requirements Education Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Maritime Business, Shipping, Logistics, or a related discipline from a reputable institution. Experience Trainee Broker:
Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant maritime education. Junior Ship Broker:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in shipbroking, chartering, or commercial shipping roles. Skills & Attributes Strong commercial awareness and interest in the dry bulk shipping market. Agile thinker with the ability to make quick, sound decisions in a time‑sensitive environment. Good communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills. Motivated, resilient, and driven to succeed in a performance‑oriented role. Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
