R&D Material Engineer, Singapore

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and technically strong R&D Material Engineer who combines deep material science expertise with commercial acumen. This role bridges research, product development, and client-facing sales-supporting the design, specification, and promotion of advanced materials and laboratory solutions. Key Responsibilities
R&D / Technical Functions Conduct research and evaluation of materials for specialized applications Develop and test material solutions based on project requirements (e.g., chemical resistance, durability, cleanroom compatibility etc.) Provide technical recommendations on materials such as stainless steel, epoxy resin, phenolic, PP, and other lab-grade surfaces Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure material compatibility with project specifications and regulatory standards Prepare technical documentation, datasheets, and compliance reports Sales & Business Development Support the sales team with technical expertise during client meetings, presentations, and tender submissions Translate technical specifications into clear value propositions for clients Identify new business opportunities by understanding market trends and client needs in laboratory and industrial sectors Assist in proposal preparation, including material specifications, costing, and solution design Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers Project & Client Support Provide material-related guidance throughout project lifecycle-from design to installation Troubleshoot material-related issues on-site and propose practical solutions Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for product sourcing, customization, and technical clarifications Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 1-2 years of experience in materials engineering, preferably in laboratory, construction, or industrial applications Strong understanding of material properties (chemical resistance, corrosion, mechanical strength, etc.) Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders Experience in technical sales, client engagement, or business development is a strong advantage Self-driven, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills Why Join Us
