Sales Assistant (Contract), Singapore

Job Summary An organised sales support professional responsible for managing customer orders, coordinating order fulfilment, and ensuring accurate, timely communication with customers of a specialised global distributor and stockist of electrical interconnection components for the aerospace and defence industry. Responsibilities Process customer orders from receipt through to shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely follow‑up. Enter customer purchase orders accurately into the system and resolve discrepancies with the sales team. Issue order acknowledgements and provide order‑related information to customers within stipulated timelines. Monitor and update order status, including open orders and past‑due items, on a daily basis. Respond to customer enquiries on order status, tracking details, shipping documents, and billing information. Ensure orders are correctly reserved and reflected in internal systems. Proactively inform internal stakeholders and customers of delivery issues that may impact supply schedules. Prepare and send order status reports to customers with accurate information and relevant remarks. Support the sales team by handling overflow administrative tasks when required. Adhere to internal quality, environmental, and operational procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Ability to manage and follow up on customer orders with strong attention to detail. Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyse customer terms, requirements, and order documentation accurately. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Proficiency in using computer systems and standard office software. Proficiency in English language for liaising with English‑speaking clients and stakeholders. Ability to anticipate issues, manage conflicts professionally, and communicate solutions clearly. Knowledge of order processing and customer relationship management processes. Knowledge of industrial or technical products is an added advantage. Knowledge of the aerospace or manufacturing sector is an added advantage. A proactive, team‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of initiative.
