They are now looking to appoint a
Senior Vice President, Credit Risk Approver
to join the regional risk team. This is a high-impact role with direct involvement in credit decision-making across multiple sectors and markets, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide independent credit approval for wholesale banking transactions across multiple sectors • Assess and approve complex credit proposals, including large corporate and structured deals • Partner closely with front office to provide balanced, commercial yet prudent risk guidance • Evaluate industry, counterparty, and transaction-specific risks across regional portfolios • Ensure alignment with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite • Contribute to portfolio monitoring, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigating actions • Support the development and enhancement of credit risk frameworks and governance standards • Engage with regional stakeholders to ensure consistency in credit decision-making and risk discipline
Requirements
• 12–18+ years of experience in credit risk within wholesale/corporate banking • Strong track record as a
credit approver
with delegated approval authority • Proven experience covering
regional portfolios across multiple sectors • Deep understanding of corporate credit analysis, structuring, and risk assessment • Ability to balance risk and business considerations in a commercial banking environment • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence to challenge senior front office stakeholders • High integrity, sound judgement, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, decision-driven environment
