Business Controller
to strengthen their finance leadership capability and partner closely with senior management.
Responsibilities for the Business Controller - Retail Financing: Act as a strategic finance partner to business unit heads, providing budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights to support commercial decision‑making Own and review group financial results, management reporting, and variance analysis Lead FP&A activities, including cash flow planning, working capital management, and cost optimisation Oversee full‑set accounting across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with SFRS Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, including audit coordination Oversee statutory reporting, GST, and corporate tax matters, liaising with external auditors and tax agents Establish and strengthen internal controls, policies, and finance processes as the business scales Lead and develop a lean finance team, providing guidance and hands‑on support where required Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, systems, and finance operations Serve as a trusted finance advisor to senior management during a phase of significant business growth
Requirements for the Business Controller - Retail Financing: Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualifications (ACCA / CA / CPA) preferred Approximately 7-12 years of relevant finance experience Minimum 2 years of audit or internal audit experience is required Broad exposure across financial reporting, FP&A, audit, tax, and statutory compliance Experience working in multi‑entity or group structures Background in retail and/or FMCG industries is strongly preferred, particularly in commercial finance or business partnering roles Strong commercial mindset with the ability to partner effectively with business leaders Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, fast‑moving, and pragmatic environment Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring junior finance team members Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
