Research Associate/Fellow (Optical Fiber Fabrication), Singapore

Each year, the School graduates over a thousand students who are ready to take on great ambitions and challenges. We are looking for a Research Associate/Fellow to support optical fiber fabrication. The successful candidate will work closely with the Reporting Officer on ongoing research projects related to high-power lasers. The role will involve designing, fabricating, and characterizing specialty optical fibers, including laser gain fibers and hollow-core fibers. Key Responsibilities: Design and fabricate specialty optical fibers in the fiber fabrication facility at NTU
Characterize drawn optical fibers and maintain a proper catalogue
Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues in the fiber fabrication facility
Manage procurement of assets and consumables
Provide ad hoc administrative support as required
Job Requirements: Master's or PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
Experience in optical fiber fabrication
Strong problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
