Duties & Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical conditions, functional abilities, and rehabilitation needs. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments, goals, and evidence-based practice, considering resident preferences and medical history. Provide hands-on physiotherapy treatments, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and modalities, to residents. Assess and manage residents' pain through various techniques, such as therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and heat/cold therapy. Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based rehabilitation programs and protocols. Educate residents and their families on rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and home exercise programs. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution. Valid license or registration to practice as a physiotherapist in the appropriate jurisdiction. Proven experience as a physiotherapist, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting. In-depth knowledge of physiotherapy principles, techniques, and evidence-based practice. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality improvement initiatives in healthcare
