Database Expert / Architect – Core Banking Microservices, Singapore

LG CNS, a leading IT services and consulting firm within LG Group, is expanding its Core Banking and Digital Transformation practice across APAC. We are seeking a highly experienced Database Expert to lead data architecture, consistency, and resilience strategies for large-scale microservices-based core banking platforms.
Role Summary Drive database architecture and data consistency strategy for next-generation core banking systems. This role will focus on high availability, data integrity, and distributed data management across multi-data center, cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities - Design and assess database architecture for microservices-based core banking systems - Define data consistency, replication, and failover strategies across multi-data center environments - Evaluate DBMS technologies (e.g., MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle) and proxy layers (e.g., MaxScale) - Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery for critical banking systems - Analyze data distribution, access control, and performance optimization - Identify risks related to data integrity, latency, and scalability - Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams - Support client advisory, architecture reviews, and transformation programs
Required Skills & Experience - 12–18 years of experience in database architecture, preferably in banking or financial services - Strong expertise in RDBMS (MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle) and distributed data systems - Experience in data replication, CDC, and high availability architectures - Understanding of microservices and cloud-native data patterns - Knowledge of database performance tuning and scalability optimization - Experience working in large-scale, high TPS environments - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with core banking platforms (Temenos, Finacle, etc.) - Exposure to DB proxy technologies (MaxScale, ProxySQL) - Understanding of event-driven architecture and streaming platforms (Kafka) - Experience in multi-country delivery models (Korea, Singapore, India)
