Freelance Graphic Designer – Remote Contract, Singapore

This role is ideal for a creative graphic designer passionate about empowering GenX women through engaging visual storytelling. You will art direct and design the layout for a non-fiction workbook and guided journal focused on homemaking, family, and stitch crafts. The project requires preparing the book for both print and eBook formats, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing experience for readers. You will collaborate closely with the author to bring the vision to life, balancing aesthetics with readability and accessibility. This is a fully remote, flexible opportunity suited for designers who excel in both layout and illustration.
Deliverables
Art direction and visual concept development for the workbook/journal Complete page layout design for print and eBook versions Creation or selection of supporting illustrations and images Preparation of print-ready and digital files according to publishing standards Collaboration with the author to refine visual elements and ensure alignment with the target audience Iterative revisions based on feedback
Requirements
Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio of book or editorial layout projects Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop Ability to create or source original illustrations relevant to homemaking and crafts Understanding of print and digital publishing requirements Excellent communication skills and responsiveness in a remote work environment Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management Experience working with self-publishing authors or on personal projects is a plus Interest in or familiarity with GenX women's interests, homemaking, or crafts is desirable
