Position Overview The K-Pop Instructor will lead Tasek Academy's Dance Lab sessions for children aged 9 years and above, introducing them to K-pop choreography and performance skills. This role focuses on delivering engaging weekly classes while nurturing confidence, musicality, and teamwork in a supportive learning environment. The instructor will collaborate with programme staff on showcases and special projects, contributing to students' creative and personal development. Classes are conducted on Saturdays: . Weekly sessions:2pm to 3.30pm
Key Responsibilities Session Planning & Instruction: . Design and deliver engaging K-pop dance lessons for children aged 9 and above. . Teach choreography inspired by current and classic K-pop tracks, focusing on musicality, technique, and performance quality. . Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. . Maintain a fun, structured, and safe learning environment. . Ensure lesson content aligns with Tasek's developmental outcomes.
Participant Engagement & Mentorship: . Build positive relationships with students through encouragement, consistency, and active engagement. . Support students in developing confidence, discipline, teamwork, and self-expression through dance. . Encourage growth mindset and perseverance through constructive feedback.
Programme & Event Support: . Collaborate with Creative Labs staff on showcases, performances, workshops, and special projects. . Support rehearsals and performances as required. . Assist with setup and pack-down of music equipment and session materials.
Volunteer Support: . Guide and support volunteers assisting during sessions, modelling effective engagement and classroom management strategies. . Work closely with programme staff to ensure smooth session delivery.
Requirements: . Proven experience teaching K-Pop dance to children and/or youth. . Strong foundation in K-Pop choreography, performance styles, and child-friendly teaching methods. . Passion for working with children in creative, supportive environments. . Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills. . Ability to teach across different skill levels and adapt lessons accordingly. . Available to commit to Saturday sessions (2.00pm to 3.30pm).
Work Environment: . Sessions take place in a dedicated indoor dance studio. . Active, high-energy teaching environment involving movement, demonstration, and facilitation. . Collaborative team culture that values creativity, mentorship, and flexibility. This role is ideal for instructors passionate about K-pop, youth development, and helping children grow in confidence through dance.
