Description
The Strategy and Research Executive conducts research coordination, internal evaluation, and supports organisation-wide planning and insight generation. The role ensures that research activities, evaluation studies, and strategic reporting are well organised, ethically conducted, and aligned with SOS's priorities. It contributes to evidence informed decision making by consolidating data, synthesising research, and preparing clear materials for internal and external stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: Research Coordination: Coordinate research projects with internal teams and external partners, ensuring they align with SOS's priorities and timelines. Support the development of research briefs, scopes of work, and ethics documents needed for research collaborations. Conduct landscape scans to identify key trends, gaps, and innovations relevant to SOS's services and policy work. Carry out structured literature reviews to summarise current evidence for programme design or policy recommendations. Maintain organised repositories of research materials, summaries, and sector resources. Ensure all research activities follow ethical guidelines, protect client confidentiality, and reflect trauma informed principles. Internal Evaluation and Studies: Support the design and implementation of internal evaluation studies to assess programme effectiveness and client outcomes. Assist programme teams in analysing and interpreting data to refine service models and improve outcomes. Maintain evaluation tools, datasets, and analysis files to enable continuous learning and improvement. Strategy and Planning Support: Assist the Manager, Strategy and Planning in tracking progress of annual and long term plans aligned with Vision 2030. Support activities that coordinate and align internal stakeholders around strategic goals and operational workplans. Contribute to dashboards, quarterly reviews, and narrative reports for leadership. Consolidate data and insights from different sources to highlight emerging needs, trends, and strategic gaps. Dissemination and Knowledge Sharing: Prepare research briefs, presentations, and evidence summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Support the dissemination of SOS's research and evaluation findings to ministries, partners, funders, and sector stakeholders Assist in preparing materials for policy consultations, sector roundtables, conferences, and strategic engagements. Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public or Social Policy, Psychology, Business Analytics, Non-profit Management, or a related field Relevant Experience: Exposure to mental health, suicide prevention, or social service settings. Experience in programme evaluation, research assistance, or policy analysis. Proficiency in data visualisation or analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, NVivo, R, or Python. Behaviour Traits & Attitude: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfort working with qualitative and quantitative data.
