Group Accounting Manager (Shipping/Maritime), Singapore

Group Accounting Manager (Shipping/Maritime) We are working with a global maritime organisation to hire a Team Lead within Group Accounting, supporting regional finance operations across multiple entities in a fast paced international environment. This is a leadership role with a mix of operational accounting oversight, process improvement, stakeholder management, and team leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and oversee a regional accounting team across areas such as accounts payable, reconciliations, and operational finance activities • Support monthly and year end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting across multiple entities • Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure strong financial controls are maintained • Drive consistency and standardisation across accounting processes and workflows • Support audits, statutory reporting, and compliance related activities across the region • Approve and oversee banking and payment related activities • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency • Support finance transformation and digitalisation initiatives, including automation and process enhancement projects • Partner with stakeholders across regional and global teams to support finance operations and reporting requirements • Mentor and guide junior finance team members while supporting workload planning and team development
Key Requirements • Degree and/or professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA or ACCA • 8+ years of accounting or finance experience within a multinational environment • Prior team leadership or supervisory experience within a finance function • Strong understanding of financial reporting, month end close, and accounting controls • Experience managing audits, reconciliations, and multi entity accounting processes • Exposure to process improvement, automation, or finance transformation initiatives would be advantageous • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across regional or global teams • Hands on, detail oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast paced environment
