The Wheelchair Transport Driver operates Bigfoot Medicare's wheelchair transport vehicles, ensuring the safe, timely, and compassionate transfer of patients to and from healthcare facilities or residences. A. Operational Tasks . Operate the assigned medical transport vehicle safely and professionally, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company SOPs. . Provide a caring and professional transport service to all patients. . Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks in accordance with SOPs, verifying that the vehicle is clean, road-worthy, and properly equipped. . Ensure safe use and handling of all transport aids - stretchers, carry chairs, wheelchairs, clamps, and seat belts - with patient safety as the highest priority. . Transport patients between hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and residences. . Assist patients safely in and out of the vehicle, applying correct reaching, lifting, and manual-handling techniques using appropriate equipment. B. Safety & Compliance . Adhere strictly to all Standard Operating Procedures, infection-control, and hygiene protocols. . Immediately report any vehicle defect, malfunction, or safety concern to the direct supervisor. . Observe the Highway Code and company road-safety rules, maintaining full attention to safe-driving practices. . Ensure compliance with all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and participate in mandatory toolbox briefings and safety meetings. C. Customer Service & Conduct D.
