Job Scope: 1. Investigative & Case Support Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate and compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant KPs for directions
2. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up Supervise daily detention sessions and after-school CWO Maintain attendance and behavioural records during the detention sessions Support Student Management Team and Year Heads with student reflection and restitution activities, including facilitating student reflection on choices, consequences and improvement strategies Ensure detention and CWO tasks are meaningful and developmental in nature 3. In-House Suspension Support Help establish a structured environment for suspended students Support learning continuity during suspension Guide students through reflective and re-entry support activities 4. Campus Supervision & Prevention Serve as visible adult presence in high movement areas during recess times and dismissal time. Conduct systematic patrols with Student Management Team members during: (In-School - Recess/ lunch breaks/ lesson transitions) Out-of-School - Marine Terrace MRT, relevant areas (when necessary) Support proactive discipline strategies Assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation contexts (where necessary)
5. Deployment & Reporting The DSO will report operationally to the HOD/Student Management Deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events Performance Expectations: Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and good judgement Engage students respectfully and constructively Uphold confidentiality and procedural fairness Collaborate effectively with teachers and relevant student management/Year Head team personnel Requirements: 1) Working Experience Must have former working experience (preferably more than 5 years) in uniformed service background (Police, Prison Service or equivalent) Must have relevant working experience in youth-related case investigation and restorative work such as behavioural support. Preferable to have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience working directly with at-risk youth in educational, community, or correctional settings Preferable for the personnel to demonstrate a strong passion and disposition for working with at-risk students, along with a positive belief in their potential 2) Core Competencies Conflict management and de-escalation Calm and proportionate behavioural intervention Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism Strong communication and interpersonal skills Accurate incident observation and documentation 3) Engagement Disposition Firm yet respectful approach when working with students Ability to build rapport while upholding expectations Cultural and school-environment sensitivity Collaborative working style with teachers and SM staff 4) Values & Professional Ethics Alignment with care-based and restorative discipline Belief in student growth and developmental support Professional maturity and reliability Respect for confidentiality and student dignity Empathy and compassion in youth work Working Hours: Mondays to Thursdays:
9:00am to 5:00pm , inclusive of 1hr lunch break (7 working hours) Fridays:
9:00am to 3:00pm , inclusive of 1hr lunch break (5 working hours) Service not required on designated Home-based learning days, Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and designated school holidays (e.g. Youth Day, Teachers' Day, Term break). There will be a minimum of
4 engagement hours
