What the role is

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Assistant Director (Governance and Corporate Finance). In this role, you will play a pivotal role in financial and accounting functions in MTI.

What you will be working on
  • Oversee MTI-HQ’s daily finance operations, including payment processing, recording deposits, handling fixed asset and journal transactions, and updating vendor and financial system records.
  • Lead financial year‑end closing activities and the corporate credit card programme.
  • Review monthly reconciliations and post‑payment checks.
  • Prepare and ensure timely submission of financial returns to central Government agencies.
  • Monitor, analyse, and present financial metrics to management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, Government regulations and instruction manuals.
  • Strengthen stakeholder engagements through forums, EDMs and workshops and brown‑bag sessions.
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders on audit, policy and process‑related queries.
  • Drive improvements in finance processes and policies, including automation opportunities and contribute to Finance Division’s transformation efforts.
  • Oversee Statutory Board’s finance operations including payment processing, revenue and receipt and recording accounting entries.
  • Review reconciliation activities, report quarterly and half‑yearly financial performance and monitor investments.
  • Review Statutory Board annual estimates.
  • Review annual financial statements in compliance with Statutory Board Financial Standards.
What we are looking for
  • A relevant field of study in Accountancy, Business Administration or related disciplines with at least 2 years of relevant working and/or supervisory experience.
  • Past relevant working experience within the Singapore Public Service with working knowledge of Government Instruction Manuals and experience in the use of Government central financial platforms (e.g. NFS@Gov) would be an advantage.
  • Committed, responsible and self‑driven.
  • Good communication, analytical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple work priorities within tight timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a team.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
