Salary: Up to $5000 basic (Depending on experience)

Location: Tuas – Company transport provided from various MRT

Hours: Mon - Fri (8am - 5pm)

Key Responsibilities:

Develop technical studies to support process implementation in the plant, including evaluation of plant capacity, process conditions, and other influencing variables.

Champion Process Safety excellence in accordance with the PSM 14 elements.

Develop Process Engineering Packages, including P&ID, PFD, equipment specifications, electrical specifications, material and energy balances, and DCS control logic.

Review Risk Assessment Screenings and participate in Management of Change (MOC) and design safety review processes.

Lead and manage PHA–HAZOP programs, including tracking and follow-up of recommendations.

Organize and conduct Process Safety studies (PSI, MOC, Mechanical Integrity, Operating Procedures, etc.) for plant processes.

Develop Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and support design review follow-ups.

Perform risk analysis and coach team members in risk assessment techniques.

Collaborate with teams to identify and implement long-term process improvement initiatives.

Conduct audits of Process Safety Management systems and execute corrective actions for risk mitigation.

Support incident investigation teams in classifying process safety incidents and developing action plans to close identified gaps.

Utilize process simulation software to evaluate and optimize Process Safety Management strategies

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

2–5 years of engineering experience in operations, process/plant engineering, projects, or technical services.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); AutoCAD is an advantage.

Core Knowledge & Skills:

Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM), including API standards and hazard studies.

Familiar with P&ID, PFD, and block flow diagrams.

Experience with MOC, risk management, and PHA (Process Hazard Analysis).

Knowledge of process hazards, failure mechanisms, and safety safeguards.

Ability to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.

Team-oriented with good collaboration across operations, maintenance, and engineering.

Certifications (advantage):

NEBOSH Process Safety or other HSE/PSM-related certifications.
