Project Engineer — Industrial Ventilation & Dust Collection …, Singapore

Mitra Engineering Services is a 30-year-old Singapore turnkey contractor for industrial air filtration — dust collectors, fume extractors, oil mist collectors, paint booths, explosion protection, and centralised vacuum systems. We are the authorised Singapore partner of Donaldson, one of the world's leading filtration brands.

We don't sell off-the-shelf but instead, design, fabricate, install and service for years afterward. Our customers are primarily in the aerospace, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, F&B, oil & gas, and metalworking sectors.

This is a hands‑on Project Engineer role under our Senior Project Engineer. You will own projects end‑to‑end, from customer enquiry, through engineering design and fabrication coordination, to site installation and commissioning. Roughly 50% office work (AutoCAD, calculations, proposals) and 50% site work (factory walkthroughs, installation supervision, troubleshooting). If you're looking for a pure-CAD office role, this is not it.

• Design dust collection, ventilation, and fume extraction systems in AutoCAD (equipment layout, ducting, hood design, filter sizing)
• Conduct customer site assessments – walk operating factories in PPE, measure existing setups, identify constraints
• Size equipment using ACGIH Industrial Ventilation Manual, NFPA standards, SS 658, SS 667
• Prepare technical proposals, BOMs, and quotations
• Coordinate with our in-house workshop on fabrication and with subcontractors on installation
• Supervise installation, commissioning, and air balancing on customer sites
• Troubleshoot performance issues post-handover and recommend corrective actions

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Building Services, or HVAC/ACMV — pure electrical, electronics, software, or industrial design backgrounds will not fit this role
• 3–10 years of mechanical, MEP, ACMV, HVAC, ductwork, ventilation, or industrial process equipment experience — ideally with site exposure to factories or process plants
• AutoCAD daily-user proficiency — you will be asked to demonstrate this live at interview, not just talk about it
• Comfortable on industrial sites in PPE (semiconductor fabs, pharmaceutical plants, metal fabrication shops, food factories)
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and able to manage 5–10 active projects in parallel

• Prior work with dust collectors, fume extractors, paint booths, or oil mist systems (Donaldson, Camfil, Nederman, Filtermist, Plymovent, etc.)
• Experience with explosion protection (NFPA 484/660/68/69, ATEX, SS 667)
• HVAC commissioning, air balancing, or test & balance background
• Cleanroom or pharmaceutical facility installation work
• Reading P&IDs, isometric piping, and electrical schematics

• Basic salary $4,500 – $5,500 depending on experience, plus transport and phone allowance
