Engineer, Communication System, Mobility Rail, Singapore

The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting data communication systems for Rail & Metro transportation projects.

• Design, select, implement, test and commission the data communication system for Rail & Metro Transportation in local and overseas projects.
• Implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard radio communication systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct Proof of concept, factory acceptance tests, and interface system integration tests prior to the actual design/on‑site implementation.
• Conduct system acceptance tests with the customer after implementation prior to handing over to the customer.
• Provide a high level of system availability, access controls of network resources, technical write‑up, and updates of the network infrastructure for the project being implemented.
• Pro‑actively monitor critical systems and troubleshoot faults detected through automated tools.
• Configure and install transport network equipment (e.g., Huawei, Nokia) and local area network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Huawei, Alcatel‑Lucent) based on project requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, handle administrative responsibilities, and support overall project execution.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers to schedule delivery and meet the project timeline.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, maintain clear communication with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and oversee project resources and subcontractor activities.

• CCNA/CCNP/HCIA/HCIP or other relevant certification will be advantageous.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and wireless communication systems.
• 1–5 years’ experience with wide area network / local area network technologies such as IP‑MPLS, OSPF, ERP, etc.
• Experience with Cisco, Alcatel‑Lucent, Extreme, Huawei network devices or other devices such as routers, switches, etc.
• Experience in network design, planning, implementation, and troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel for overseas assignments and adaptability to working hours aligned with railway engineering schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized, proactive, self‑directed, able to perform with minimal supervision, and a team player.
