Description

The Senior Field Application Engineer (SFAE) will provide system-level application and design support across embedded processing, analog, power, and sensing technologies. The role focuses on enabling customers to successfully develop electronic systems by leveraging semiconductor solutions, development ecosystems, and reference designs, driving design wins and increasing market share.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Primary Functions
  • Act as the primary technical interface between customers and suppliers, supporting design-in activities across microcontrollers, analog, power, and sensor product lines.
  • Provide hands‑on support in embedded system design, including firmware development (C/C++), peripheral configuration, and system integration.
  • Guide customers in utilizing development tools, software frameworks, and evaluation platforms for rapid prototyping and deployment.
  • Support hardware integration of processing devices, power solutions (e.g., DC/DC, PMICs, battery management), and sensor components into customer designs.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Marketing to identify and drive design opportunities in key application segments (e.g., industrial, IoT, automotive, consumer).
  • Deliver technical presentations, application demonstrations, and workshops to accelerate product adoption.
  • Assist customers with debugging, optimization, and performance tuning of embedded systems.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking, technical engagement, and opportunity updates in CRM tools.
  • Drive Bill of Materials (BOM) expansion by promoting complementary products across multiple categories (processing, power, sensing, connectivity).
Secondary Functions
  • Support design registration and opportunity tracking programs to secure commercial advantage.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for internal stakeholders and customers to enhance product and application knowledge.
  • Work with global engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Continuously stay updated on product roadmaps, emerging technologies, and market trends relevant to embedded systems and power electronics.
CREDENTIALS Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in embedded systems and electronic design.
Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in embedded hardware and/or firmware development.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Microcontroller-based system design (ARM Cortex-M or similar architectures)
  • Embedded firmware development (C/C++, RTOS)
  • Analog and power design (e.g., voltage regulators, power conversion, battery systems)
  • Sensor integration (e.g., motion, environmental, or industrial sensing)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills in practical, real‑world embedded applications.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into system‑level solutions across hardware and software.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and influence design wins and cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Self‑driven, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
