Senior Executive (Legal Support), Legal Aid Bureau …, Singapore

You will assist the Legal Service Officers in the Legal Aid Bureau with litigation work and participate in projects to improve work processes and organisational effectiveness.

Litigation work

• Interview applicants on the legal issues facing them.
• Assess the applicant's financial means and needs.
• Record statements from legal aid applicants, extract relevant information and facts, and refer them to social service help if necessary; obtain and assess evidence to support the case.
• Explore options with applicants and parties involved to reach an amicable agreement, if possible.
• Draft legal documents and file court documents.

• Litigation Support: Prepare high‑quality, accurate first drafts of court papers for standard cases, submit them to the legal officer for vetting, and then to the Court within the required timeline.
• Legal Case Management: Take instructions and relay advice between applicant and legal officer, act as liaison, progress the file, including document drafting, searches, communication with third parties, and affirmation of affidavits.
• Case Negotiations: Assist the applicant in negotiating with the other party to resolve disputes amicably.
• Highly motivated individual able to work under pressure.
• Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong writing skills; prior experience in investigative work, report writing, and legal drafting is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate well with stakeholders.
• Good customer service skills.
• Mandarin speaking and reading fluency required; additional dialect an advantage.

Successful candidates will be appointed on a 1‑year contract, subject to renewal.
