Description
Role Overview As a Senior BMS Embedded Hardware Engineer, your primary mission is to design, develop, and validate high-performance embedded hardware systems that serve as the 'nervous system' of our battery technology. You will lead the creation of robust analog and digital circuits from concept to mass production. While design is your core focus, you will also act as a technical evaluator-reviewing and validating designs of new and existing hardware to drive continuous improvements in performance, reliability, safety, and cost-efficiency. Core Responsibilities 1. Hardware Design & Architecture (Primary Focus) Schematic & PCB Design: Lead the design of complex, multi-layer PCBs using Altium Designer, focusing on analog/digital mixed signal circuits, sensor interfaces, and cell-balancing networks. Power Electronics: Design & integrate MCU, power stages, including DC-DC converters, communication circuitry, protection circuitry, high-voltage isolation etc. Component Selection: Source and qualify critical components (MCU, AFEs, ADCs, Shunts, MOSFETs) based on performance, thermal constraints, and AEC-Q standards. 2. Design Evaluation & Optimization Reference Design Review: Evaluate and 'stress-test' existing hardware or supplier reference designs to identify potential failure points or quality gaps. Cost & Quality Engineering: Proactively identify opportunities to optimize the Bill of Materials (BOM) and improve manufacturing yields through better Design for Manufacturing (DFM). 3. Full-Spectrum Hardware Testing & Validation Testing Lifecycle: Plan and execute the 'Full Package' of hardware testing, including bench-level verification and functional testing. EMC/EMI & Safety: Own the EMC/EMI testing process (Conducted/Radiated) and ensure the system meets global standards (ISO 26262, UL 1973, IEC 61508). HIL Integration: Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate hardware responses against real-time simulated battery environments. 4. Hardware-Software Interface (HSI) Work and collaborate closely with the Firmware team to define and develop hardware abstraction layers. Provide deep hardware insights to support the development of low-level drivers, ADC calibration routines, and interrupt-driven communication. Requirements Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics/Power Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering (EE) or equivalent, optionally with focus in Analog Digital Circuit Design, and Embedded Systems. Experience: 3-5+ years in the power electronics, automotive electronic or high-reliability embedded industry. Technical Expertise: Expert / Experienced-level proficiency in Altium Designer (schematic capture and PCB layout). Proven experience with Automotive MCUs (NXP, ST, etc.) and their hardware-level peripherals. Hands-on experience with BMS Analog Front-Ends (AFE) and current/voltage monitoring circuits. Strong understanding of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques at the PCB level. Bonus Qualifications Firmware Awareness: A strong understanding of the 'hardware-facing' software layer (register maps, memory-mapped I/O, and low-level MCU architecture). Simulation: LTSpice, PSpice, or MATLAB/Simulink for worst-case circuit analysis. Safety Standards: Work with functional safety lifecycles (ISO 26262).
