Sub-Editor, Kallang

About The Role
This position will be based in our Singapore office located in Kallang Bahru.
We are seeking someone who stays on top of viral trends, drives high-quality news ideation, and ensures content meets our editorial standards across both Organic and Branded work.
You will manage advertorial projects, guide junior writers, shape content strategy through media monitoring and insights, and support the team's growth through mentorship, performance tracking, and active participation in shaping MustShareNews' editorial direction.
What You Will Do
Editorial - Organic
Sub-Editing: Edit team articles to ensure they meet editorial standards, house style, and strong news angles, while guiding the team in pitching, angling, and story development to enhance content quality and timeliness. Quality Control (QC): Review content from the editorial and video teams to ensure it meets the Company's standards and house style. Lead ideation by monitoring viral trends and pitching newsworthy stories to the team. Writing: Write and prepare curation, attend events, review places, and self-edit your own work whenever necessary. Editorial - Branded
Liaise with the project management team and clients to produce advertorials on MustShareNews. Delegating work to junior writers in the team and editing their submitted work Ensure that writers meet the expected standard and error-free Media-Monitoring & Content Strategy
Media Monitoring: Screen social media & pick up stories from local media for news posts, and collate data and insights to inform the team's content ideation strategy. Content Strategy: Pitch ideas regularly and play an active role in shaping MS News' editorial direction. This includes supporting monthly pitching and angling meetings and coaching others on developing timely, impactful story angles. Social Media Management: Manage and develop MustShareNews social media accounts, including Facebook. Performance Tracking: Assist the Editor in KPI tracking and reporting performance metrics for junior staff and the team. Mentorship: Mentor and train assigned junior sub-editors, writers, and interns, while supporting full-time team members in improving pitching and ideation through guidance, collaborative brainstorming, and constructive feedback.
The Successful Candidate Should Have
At least 5 years of experience in the editorial team of a publication is required (preferably in the news sector) Minimum 3 years of experience in sub-editing Experience in managing people and have worked in at least a junior management role Strong command of English Competent writer - able to write fast and flawlessly Versatile - able to adapt to our house style Meticulous - great at fact-checking and editing
